Work Experience Calculator
Add every employment period and calculate your total experience in years, months and days. Overlapping dates are counted only once.
How work experience is calculated
Enter the start and end dates for every job. For a current role, select “I currently work here” and the calculator will use today's date.
All intervals are sorted and merged. When employment periods overlap or touch, the same calendar day never increases the total twice.
This tool calculates employment duration from the dates you provide. It does not replace official pension, benefit, immigration or statutory service calculations, whose rules differ by country.

Frequently asked questions
Is the final day of a job included?
Yes. Both the start and end dates are included. A period whose start and end dates are the same counts as one day.
How are overlapping jobs counted?
The calculator merges overlapping intervals. Each calendar day counts once toward total experience, even if you held several jobs at that time.
How do I calculate experience in my current job?
Enter the start date and select “I currently work here”. The calculator will use today's date as the end.
Is this an official length-of-service calculation?
No. It is a neutral calculation based on calendar dates. Pension, benefits, immigration and statutory service rules depend on local law and supporting records.
Are my employment dates saved?
No. The calculation runs locally in your browser. Dates are not sent to a server and disappear when you close or reload the page.
