About adding text to photos
A caption turns a photo into a greeting card, a meme, an announcement or a watermarked image. Here the text is drawn straight onto the picture inside your browser: nothing is uploaded, so editing is instant and the photo stays with you. The downloaded file keeps the original resolution — the caption scales with the image, so it will not come out tiny on a large photo.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is opened and processed on your own device and is never sent to a server or stored anywhere. That is why the tool responds instantly and is safe for personal photos and documents.
What quality is the saved image?
The original resolution. The on-screen preview is scaled down so dragging stays smooth, but on download the caption is redrawn on the full-size image. The file is saved as PNG, which keeps text sharp with no compression artefacts.
Can I write several lines?
Yes — press Enter in the text field. Lines are centred relative to one another and the whole block moves together.
How do I make a watermark?
Lower the opacity, pick white or grey and place the caption in a corner. For stronger protection, increase the size: a large semi-transparent caption across the frame is much harder to remove than a small signature.
The text is hard to read against the background — what do I do?
Use the outline: choose a colour that contrasts with the text and increase its thickness. White text with a black outline stays readable on almost any background, which is why memes and subtitles use it.
