Video to GIF Online — Make Animated GIF from MP4
Convert MP4/MOV to GIF in your browser: pick the interval, FPS, size. Great for Telegram, Discord, social. No server upload.
About the Video to GIF tool
This tool turns MP4, MOV or WebM video into an animated GIF right inside your browser. Upload a clip, pick the interval on the timeline, choose FPS and width — hit “Make GIF” and save the result. No upload, no signup, no watermark.
Everything runs locally. Frames are extracted through HTML5 video and canvas, GIF encoding is done by the fast gifenc JS encoder in your tab. Private clips, screen recordings, video from chats — all stay on your device.
The output GIF is great for Telegram, Discord, X, Instagram and any other social. For Telegram GIF stickers (max 1 MB) a 480px / 10 FPS / 3-second clip usually fits. For Discord emoji — 128px, short loop. For a tutorial or article preview — 640px and 12-15 FPS for smooth motion.
Where you'll use it
Telegram sticker
Telegram accepts GIF up to 1 MB as an animated sticker. Pick a 3-second clip, set width to 480-512px and 10 FPS — usually fits with room to spare. Send to chats or add to your sticker set via @stickers.
Discord reaction
Discord emoji and reactions are short GIFs up to 256 KB, 128×128. Cut a funny moment from a clip, drop the FPS — instant reaction emoji you can use on your server.
Tutorial / how-to
Show a workflow with a short GIF instead of a long video. Perfect for articles, GitHub READMEs, social posts: scans instantly, no play button needed.
Article preview
An animated preview tells the story better than a static image. Take a 5-second clip, export to GIF at 640px width — instant atmospheric header for a blog or channel.
FAQ
How do I make a GIF from a video online?
1) Upload a video (MP4, MOV or WebM) by clicking or dropping it. 2) Pick start and end on the timeline — the duration is shown next to it. 3) Set FPS (10-15 is balanced) and max width (480-640 is universal). 4) Click “Make GIF”, wait a few seconds, and download the result.
What's the max video size I can upload?
There's no hard limit — your browser's memory is the constraint. Files up to ~100 MB are usually fine on a PC and most phones. If the video is very large or long, or the browser fails — pick a shorter interval, smaller width, or lower FPS.
Can I make a GIF for Telegram or Discord?
Yes. For a Telegram sticker keep the output under 1 MB — usually 3 seconds at 480px and 10 FPS. For Discord emoji — under 256 KB at 128×128. The result panel shows the final size; tweak settings if it's too big. Then upload to @stickers (Telegram) or your server settings (Discord).
What FPS should I pick?
10-15 FPS is the sweet spot for size vs smoothness — GIFs almost always look natural and stay compact. 5-8 FPS — when you really need it tiny (stickers, emoji). 24+ FPS — very smooth, but file grows 2-3×. GIF can't deliver true 60 FPS smoothness — that's a format limit.
Does the GIF keep the audio?
No, GIF is an image format — no audio track. If you need sound, use a video format (MP4, WebM). For tutorials, reactions or aesthetic loops, the silent autoplay-loop nature of GIF is actually a feature.
