What link does a Telegram QR code use?
Public channels, bots, groups and personal profiles are available at https://t.me/<username>. For example, the channel @convertilo is https://t.me/convertilo. A phone camera will open Telegram automatically.
How do I make a QR for a private Telegram channel or group?
Open the chat in Telegram → Manage → Invite Links → create a link like https://t.me/+abcXYZ. Paste it into the “Invite link” mode and download the QR. The link works until you revoke it.
Is a QR code by phone number safe?
Telegram only opens a chat with a phone number if that number is on Telegram. If the contact disabled lookup by phone, no chat opens. That's standard Telegram behavior, not something we control.
What is “Share” mode?
It generates a https://t.me/share/url link — the QR opens Telegram with a ready-made message (your text and link), and the user picks who to forward it to. Great for viral promo and special offers.
Do you store the QR code on your server?
No. Generation runs entirely in your browser via JavaScript — no data leaves your device. You can safely use it even for private invites to closed chats.
Can I change the QR color to match my brand?
Yes, customize both foreground and background. Keep enough contrast between the two colors though — otherwise cameras may fail to read the QR (especially when printed at a small size on a business card).
