How to save an XLSX workbook as PDF
XLSX is the modern Excel format introduced with Office 2007. You'll convert it to PDF when you need to send a report to a client, publish numbers externally, or freeze a snapshot of your calculations on a specific day so nobody can change the formulas.
Pick the Excel workbook
Upload the .xlsx file — a financial model, a monthly report, a price list, or a dashboard with charts and pivot tables.
Wait for rendering
The service walks through every sheet in the workbook, rendering charts, pivot tables, conditional formatting and graphic objects.
Send the PDF to the recipient
Attach the generated PDF to an email for a client or publish it — recipients will see the exact numbers without any risk of breaking formulas.
Benefits of XLSX to PDF
A frozen snapshot
A PDF locks in the computed values at the moment of conversion — essential for reporting where numbers must not shift after you've sent them to a client or regulator.
Designed for external recipients
Clients and contractors may not have Excel or might use a different Office version. PDF guarantees everyone sees the spreadsheet in the same layout.
Charts and graphs
Every Excel chart type — column, pie, line, combo — is rendered into the PDF as vector graphics, so the visuals stay crisp at any zoom level.
Hidden formulas
The recipient only sees the final results, never the commercial coefficients, internal rates, or calculation methodology you used behind the scenes.
No Office converters
You don't have to install Excel or search for third-party converters — everything runs directly in your browser.
XLSX to PDF FAQs
Will pivot tables be preserved?
Yes, pivot tables land in the PDF in exactly the state they're in at the time of conversion, including any filters or groupings currently applied.
What about conditional formatting?
Colour fills, icons and colour scales driven by conditional formatting are carried over to the PDF in their final rendered state.
How are very wide tables handled?
If the table is wider than the page, the service automatically switches to landscape orientation or reduces the print scale so that everything fits.
Can I pick specific sheets to convert?
Currently the entire workbook is converted, including every non-empty sheet. To exclude certain sheets, delete them in Excel before uploading.
